WHY US?

Experts
Blueberry Living is led by Directors (Consultant Learning Disability Psychiatrists) and Senior management who are extremely familiar with the needs of the most challenging and complex adults with Learning Disabilities and associated difficulties. Having managed these needs in healthcare settings, they bring their expertise to frontline community provision to prevent the need for these vulnerable adults entering or returning to the hospital system

Planning
- We will only accept service users after careful initial assessment and risk assessment involving our senior management team to ensure all clinical needs and goal-driven aspirations can be met
- Service users will have a bespoke, co-designed transition plan
- Admissions to Blueberry Living Services are staggered to allow each service user to settle and build relationships with their new staff team. This will avoid cumulative strain on both the service user and the staffing team from multiple service users arriving at the same time

Homely
- Our properties are clustered in small numbers with 2-4 service users per staff team. This may include bespoke self-contained apartments or self-contained houses where shared living is not tolerated by the service user
- Properties are comfortable and homely with close attention to soft furnishings and décor

Innovative
- We use real-time, Person-Centred digital software for all care planning and compliance. This gives clear recording and accountability for support being provided and ease of access to data for audit, inspections and quality improvement
- We have secure digital portals with access for families to maintain contact with keyworkers
- They can be kept up-to-date with activities and development through messages, notes and photographs

Skilled Support
- We understand that providing high quality care requires skilled, competent staff that are well supported, confident, with positive morale and a low turnover. Stressed staff leads to stressed service users
- Service users will be supported by robust levels of 1-1 (or more) support if required
- We promote enhanced staff expertise and career development with additional person-centred training such as: Neurodevelopmental conditions, Positive Behaviour Support, Stopping Over-Medicating People (STOMP), Trauma and Attachment Issues, Mental Health Conditions and Personality Disorder
